I am a
Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Chemical Dependency Professional in the South Puget Sound area--Olympia, Washington. I have worked as a counselor/ psychotherapist for several years facilitating individual and group therapy for adults.

Focus of Services

My services include counseling and psychotherapy for individuals (adults and young adults age 17 and older). I specialize in the treatment of codependency, family of origin (ACOA), attachment issues, depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, addictions, grief/loss & bereavement, life transitions, self-esteem, interpersonal skills, as well as, personal development and existential issues. Please do not hesitate to contact me about concerns you may have that are not listed here.

The therapeutic models that I prefer and have received additional training in are:
Lifespan Integration, Mindfulness-based Therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Ecopsychology, and Brain-based Therapy (interpersonal neurobiology). Visualization, meditation, and expressive arts are tools that may be incorporated into your therapy. My approach is holistic and together we will create an individualized plan of treatment taking into account your personal goals, needs, presenting issues, and personality.

Philosophy
I believe you are the expert on your own life and my role is to facilitate and/or guide you in the process of psychotherapy. I also believe that human beings have the innate ability to heal when they are provided a safe environment.

We will begin in a pragmatic way, gathering information and focusing on your immediate concerns and goals. It is my intention to provide a safe therapeutic space for you. If I believe we are not a good "match" for the work you want to do, I will do my best to assist you in finding someone who may be more compatible with your needs.
